WELCOME 2027 DIFFERENTLY

Imagine ending the year… watching whales breach the Pacific Ocean, wandering through lush rainforest, discovering hidden waterfalls, gathering around the fire beneath the stars, and celebrating with people who feel like lifelong friends. Because the best way to begin a new year… is to feel fully alive.
I have been to yoga retreat every year and this was my first Bikram yoga and I must say that I have the best experience. Nadine the instructor was inspirational to me she leave me feeling refreshed, renewed and balanced. I have learned to find tools in my yoga journey. The resort was beautiful and peaceful scenery also the delicious and healthy food cooked by Anna was amazing! I will definitely attend more Bikram yoga retreat with happiness safari in the future. Thanks! Virginia, US
I attended this yoga retreat in November at Moodz Spa and Resort and had a fantastic experience! The retreat was well-organized, with Bikram yoga classes taught by Nadine with passion and energy. There were also many other enriching and transformative activities and the food was delicious and healthy. It was a renewing and relaxing experience. Absolutely highly recommended to anyone looking for a structured yoga retreat with a positive atmosphere! 5/5 ⭐️ Vittoria, Italy

FAQ

Will I definitely see whales and dolphins?
We wish we could ask the whales to save the date! Nature writes her own schedule, so sightings can never be guaranteed. The good news is that late December/January is one of the best times to visit Uvita for humpback whales, and dolphins are frequently spotted too. Whether it’s a breaching whale, a playful pod of dolphins, or simply an unforgettable morning on the Pacific Ocean, the safari is always a highlight of the retreat.
What airport do I fly into?
Fly into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José. We recommend arriving one day early and staying overnight in San José to allow for any travel delays. On Monday morning, we’ll travel together to Uvita by shared shuttle, beginning the retreat as a group.
What if the minimum group size is not reached?
This retreat requires a minimum number of 10 participants to run. If the minimum is not reached, you will receive a full refund of your retreat payment or the option to transfer to a future retreat. But so far, I hosted over 30 retreats and never cancelled one, so we manifest this is happening.
Is Bikram suitable for beginners?
Yes. This retreat is open to both beginners and experienced practitioners. Each class is guided with clear instruction, and you are always encouraged to listen to your body. The jungle setting may be wild — but the yoga space is safe, supportive, and accessible.
Temperature expectations?
Late December to early January is one of the most beautiful times to visit Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. Daytime: approximately 28°C to 32°C. Nighttime: approximately 22°C to 25°C. Expect warm tropical days, balmy evenings, lush rainforest, and warm ocean temperatures perfect for swimming. Perfect conditions for daily yoga, waterfall adventures, beach sunsets, and welcoming the New Year surrounded by nature.
Is Costa Rica safe?
Yes. Costa Rica is widely regarded as one of the safest countries in Central America. Uvita is a welcoming, laid-back beach town, and with common-sense travel precautions, visitors enjoy a safe and memorable stay.
Do I need a visa?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Please check the entry requirements for Costa Rica based on your passport before booking your flights.
Do I need any vaccinations?
No mandatory vaccinations are required for most travelers arriving from Europe or North America. However, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider or local travel clinic for the latest travel health advice before your trip.
Are mosquitoes common?
As this is a tropical destination, mosquitoes are present, particularly around sunrise and sunset. We recommend bringing insect repellent and lightweight clothing for the evenings.
Can I drink the tap water?
ap water is generally safe to drink in Uvita, but filtered water is also readily available throughout the retreat.
