KENYA

Why Kenya Is My Second Home — And Why You’ll Love It Too

Once you arrive in Kenya, you’ll understand why I chose this place as my second home.

There’s a powerful energy here — one that’s hard to describe but impossible to ignore. It’s in the colors of the sunsets, the rhythm of the ocean, the warm smiles of the people. It’s a land that invites you to slow down, breathe deeper, and remember what truly matters.

For many, Kenya holds a deep spiritual resonance. Whether it’s the raw, untouched beauty of its landscapes, the majestic wildlife, or the ancestral wisdom of the land, being here has a way of reconnecting you with the earth — and with yourself. It’s the kind of place that realigns you with your purpose without needing to say a word.

What surprises many first-time visitors is how safe and welcoming it feels. Kenyan hospitality is unmatched. Locals are warm, kind-hearted, and genuinely excited to share their culture with you. From the coast to the savannah, you’ll be met with open arms and open hearts.

As someone who’s traveled to many parts of the world, I’ve felt more held here than in most places. There’s a balance of simplicity and richness, nature and community, that makes you feel grounded and free all at once.

Whether you come for the peace, the healing, the beauty, or just the adventure — Kenya gives something to everyone. But what it gives most… is a feeling of home.

BIG 5 SAFARI

As part of your retreat experience, we offer a 3-day safari tour — a unique opportunity to explore some of Kenya’s most iconic wildlife destinations.

This tour includes visits to two exceptional national parks:

Nairobi National Park
Located just outside the capital city, Nairobi National Park is one of the few wildlife parks in the world set against a city skyline. Despite its proximity to urban life, it offers an incredible array of wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and more.

Tsavo East National Park
One of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya, Tsavo East is known for its expansive landscapes, red-dust elephants, and rich biodiversity. Here, you’ll have the chance to see a wide range of animals in their natural habitat — including the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino.

You’ll stay at a comfortable and scenic resort, selected for its peaceful setting and close connection to nature. The accommodations provide a place to rest and reflect, with beautiful views and an immersive experience in the Kenyan landscape.

This safari extension is a wonderful way to complement the inner journey of the retreat with a deeper connection to nature — and the spirit of Kenya.

WATAMU TREE HOUSE

Watamu Treehouse is a unique eco-retreat located on the serene coastline of Kenya, nestled between the white sands of Watamu Beach and the surrounding mangrove forests. Designed in harmony with nature, it offers a peaceful environment ideal for rest, reflection, and reconnection.

The Treehouse’s open-plan architecture feels more like a living sculpture than a hotel — two towers connected by floating bridges, with seven individually styled en-suite rooms. Many of the rooms open up to expansive views of the Indian Ocean or lush forest canopy, allowing guests to feel immersed in the natural world from the moment they wake up.

The atmosphere is quiet, artistic, and inviting. There’s a natural cool-water swimming pool, open-air lounge spaces, and direct access to the beach. Throughout the day, guests are welcome to explore a variety of activities, from daily yoga classes (held in the studio, forest, or even on paddleboards) to kayaking through mangroves, snorkeling, massages, and nature walks.

The food is wholesome, fresh, and locally sourced — designed to nourish and energize without ever feeling restrictive. Meals are shared communally or privately, depending on your preference.

Watamu Treehouse is known for its gentle hospitality, commitment to sustainability, and unique connection to the land and sea. It’s a peaceful haven for solo travelers, couples, families, and retreat groups — a place to truly slow down, breathe deeply, and return to what matters most.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Each day in Watamu begins with a gentle group meditation — offering a variety of techniques to help you reconnect with yourself and find presence before the day unfolds. Morning yoga sessions are held on our beautiful open-air terrace, with a spectacular sea view, inviting you to move your body with awareness and ease, guided by experienced teachers who meet you where you are.

After yoga, we gather for a nourishing brunch — a colorful, wholesome meal designed to energize and restore. The late morning and early afternoon are yours to enjoy as you wish: swim in the ocean, relax in the shade, journal, receive a massage, or simply be.

In the afternoons, we come back together for a rotating program of inspiring workshops — from breathwork and SUP Yoga to mangrove floating and creative exploration. Each day brings something new, designed to open your heart, move your body, and deepen your self-awareness.

Evenings are peaceful and grounding. You’ll enjoy a delicious dinner followed by optional practices like yoga nidra, moon meditations, or time to stargaze and reflect.

Throughout the week, you’ll also have the opportunity to join posture clinics for individual alignment support, ask questions, and explore your yoga practice on a deeper level. And in group coaching sessions, you’ll be gently guided to look within — gaining clarity, working through blocks, and reconnecting to your path with intention.

This retreat is an invitation to reset, recharge, and remember who you are — held by nature, movement, and community.

KILIFI WELLNESS FESTIVAL

The 7th Kilifi Wellness Festival takes place at Salty’s Kitesurf Village on beautiful Bofa Beach and Three Degrees South on Kilifi Creek.

It’s a joyful gathering of art, music, yoga, movement, healing, and ocean magic.

From sunrise meditations to sunset cacao ceremonies, the festival features sound baths, ecstatic dance, workshops, moonlit dhow cruises, and over 50 wellness sessions.

Expect Vinyasa, aerial, SUP yoga, breathwork, circus arts, tarot, and more — led by world-class facilitators, including Nadine.

Book private sessions with expert healers in massage, reiki, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and energy work. Don’t miss the vibrant festival market filled with handmade treasures, crystals, fashion, and coastal creations.
